ISA-95 MOM software that connects the plan to the floor

ISA-95 draws the line every manufacturer lives with: Level 4 plans the business, Levels 0–2 run the machines, and Level 3 — manufacturing operations management — is where the plan either becomes product or falls apart. DO.Impact is that Level 3 layer for small and mid-sized plants, covering all four MOM pillars in one suite.

In short

DO.Impact covers the ISA-95 Level 3 MOM layer — production, quality, maintenance and inventory operations — in one suite: SIOP and finite scheduling down to hourly SIC execution, with quality, maintenance and material readiness in the same loop. 16 of 20 mapped activities managed end-to-end.

Production operations: from SIOP to the hour

The Level 4 demand plan is checked against real capacity in SIOP, sequenced at finite capacity on the scheduling board, then paced hour by hour on the SIC board with loss codes — the full Level 3 production loop in one data model.

  • SIOP demand vs capacity check
  • Finite-capacity scheduling, 0–12 weeks
  • SIC hourly board with loss reasons

Quality operations in the same loop

Quality is not a separate system. Escalations are contained first in the 3C loop, then driven to root cause in the Problem Solver, and the calibration module keeps measurement resources traceable — quality operations as ISA-95 intends.

  • Quality escalations with containment
  • 8D / A3 / DMAIC problem solving
  • Calibration and measurement traceability

Maintenance operations that protect the plan

The equipment register carries autonomous and planned maintenance, breakdown history and spares; MRO check scheduling covers heavy maintenance. Downtime feeds back into the schedule instead of surprising it.

  • Equipment register with AM/PM tasks
  • Breakdown and downtime history
  • MRO check scheduling for heavy maintenance

Level 4 and Levels 0–2 stay where they are

DO.Impact does not replace your ERP or your machine controls. It is the operations layer between them: the plan comes in, performance goes back, and the Enterprise Network model shows how each part of the business couples to the next.

  • ERP and finance stay at Level 4
  • SCADA / PLC stay at Levels 0–2
  • Enterprise Network maps the coupling

How DO.Impact covers ISA-95 / IEC 62264

ISA-95 describes where each manufacturing function belongs. DO.Impact is a Level 3 manufacturing operations management system with a strong Level 4 connection: it plans, schedules, dispatches, tracks and analyses operations, and it hands off to Level 2 control systems rather than replacing them. Across 20 requirements: 16 managed end-to-end, 2 partly supported, 2 honestly outside the boundary.

What DO.Impact does not do — on purpose

Levels 0 to 2 — sensors, PLCs, SCADA and machine control — are outside DO.Impact. So is transactional ERP: order entry, invoicing and the general ledger. DO.Impact consumes and reconciles against them.

  • Managed in DO.Impact: The requirement is planned, executed and recorded inside the suite.
  • Partly supported: DO.Impact carries the process and the record, but some evidence is produced elsewhere.
  • Outside the boundary: Handled by another system or by the certified organisation itself; DO.Impact links to it.

Frequently asked questions

What is ISA-95?

ISA-95 (IEC 62264) is the international standard that models how enterprise planning (Level 4) connects to manufacturing operations management (Level 3) and the shop floor (Levels 0–2). It defines four Level 3 pillars: production, quality, maintenance and inventory operations.

What is MOM software?

Manufacturing operations management (MOM) software runs the Level 3 activities between the ERP and the machines: detailed scheduling, work dispatch, production tracking, quality management, maintenance management and material movement. DO.Impact delivers these as one connected suite.

Which ISA-95 Level 3 pillars does DO.Impact cover?

All four: production operations (SIOP, finite scheduling, shop floor execution, SIC), quality operations (escalations, problem solving, calibration), maintenance operations (equipment register, AM/PM, MRO) and inventory operations (material checks and kitting ahead of the schedule).

Does DO.Impact replace my ERP or SCADA?

No. Transactional ERP (finance, payroll, serialised inventory) sits at Level 4 and SCADA/PLC control at Levels 0–2 — both stay in place. DO.Impact is the Level 3 operations layer that connects the plan to the floor and reports performance back up.

Is ISA-95 relevant for a small manufacturer?

The model is, even if the paperwork is not. Small plants feel the same gap the standard describes: the plan in the ERP does not match what the floor can do. DO.Impact closes that gap with SIOP, finite-capacity scheduling and hourly execution tracking — without an enterprise MES project.
